I, and the rest of the blog world, were tagged by Cathy at Antsy Pants with this survey of threes. It is a great and simple way to get to know each other so like Cathy I am going to tag everyone who reads as well. Feel free to post in the comment section or your blog. If you use your blog be sure to let me know so I can come visit.

That's all I've got... what about the rest of you??
As some may know I have recently joined a gym. I am actually liking it and trying to go most days. I have been increasing my time on the bike and I have managed to lose 10 pounds. [long way to go but a start]
I have found the most important thing to get me motivated is my ipod shuffle [see picture above]. I have a classic ipod but it is too bulky. I have loaded the shuffle with songs that are peppy, loud and have a great beat. I have posted the list below, it is strictly a copy and paste from itunes. [who ever invented copy and paste deserves a Nobel Prize imo]. I have kept the song length, artist and album title incase anyone is interested in the songs. The songs hightlighted in red are particular favorites. I know there are some repeats or some that people might not think are inspiring but it is my list and some songs are just because I like them. The ipod shuffle also clips easily to the sleeve of my tee shirt and is out of the way.
Supersonic by Oasis kept me on the bike 5 extra minutes today. I had done my half hour and the machines and went back to the bike for 10 more minutes. I wasn't going to do the 5 minute cool down but when the song came on I decided to stay until the end...guess what it is almost 5 minutes long and I finished the extra time.
It's a longish list but have a peruse and let me know what you think. I would also love some suggestions if you have any songs that inspire you. Thanks ahead of time

I know you all have been anxiously waiting for me to continue to aswer the questions submitted, so here goes part 3.
Cathy from Antsy Pants [my she is a curious one] asked about my best vacation. This one is easy. In December of 2008 I went to England by myself. Yep, no kids and no husband and it was marvelous. I was turning 50 that year so I treated myself to a vacation. While I was there I met up with some friends I had met on Pure Robbie , a fan site devoted to the pop star Robbie Williams [see link on left side bar] My friend Tracey drove me all over the UK and we visited lots of members of the site. We also took time to visit my dad who was there at the time [they own a home in March].
The best family vacation would have to be, a few years earlier when we all drove down to Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. We saw the historical sites and went to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. We hope to go back soon since there is so much more to see.
************************
Alice over at Alice in Wonderland wanted to know the best and worst places I have traveled. I haven't found the best yet since there are so many places to see. I do love to visit my friends, where ever they may live and see what their lives are like. People will ask why I am going to Indianapolis or Cleveland, not your tourist hot spots, and I say because friends live there. We have always found great things to do and see.
I haven't found a worst place yet but I didn't enjoy all the delays and getting stranded in the snow when I travelled this past February.... but hey at least it wasn't volcanic ash.
***********************
Carma from Carma Sez took a futuristic approach and asked how I planned to spend my retirement. Now there's food for thought. Ideally and if all my 401K's behave I would like to do more travelling. Visiting more exotic places around the world. I have always wanted to see the pyramids in Egypt.
I hope to be a grandmother, they says its great cuz you get to give the crying babies back to mom and dad. I would also like to be a better gardener, keeping up with the perennials.
***********************
And finally Steven Anthony who blogs at No excuse, No expanation wanted to know, if I was stranded on an island for the rest of my life what three things would I want. [food isn't an issue] This is a tough question but I decided I would need music, sunscreen and a beautiful man to apply it for me.
**********************
Seems there will be a part 4 in the future sometime. Seems a lot are interested in my taste in food and music. Also Ian at The Daily Dose of Reality emailed me a long list of questions. He'll probably have to have his own post... what I do for my friends.
xxx
Ok so I'm probably pushing it a bit with the homicidal thing but I still hate the gym. Well let's say I hate going to the gym. Once I am dragged there kicking and screaming I kinda like it. I am biking for over a half hour now and usually make past 5 miles. It may not sound like much but for this arthritic out of shape woman I am quite proud of myself. All of the credit goes to my daughter who humiliates I mean motivates me to go. [did you know she's a blogger too?]
She has been showing me how to use the machines and she laughs at with me the whole time. It's ok, I'll get her back some day. [insert evil laugh]
I really wish they didn't have so many mirrors around, that is not motivating at all. Quite embarrassing infact. I suppose the muscly guys and gals like it but I don't.... yet. I hope I am not premature in saying that. I certainly need all the motivation I can get and the scales aren't showing it yet. [shit I hate that word]
This was the dinner I made myself last night. Impressed? I am. I love salads I just don't like having to cut up everything. If someone brought me a salad every day I would love it. Any volunteers??
That's it for this late entry Tuesday post and all of you that think I have forgotten you... I haven't but adding this gym thing into the mix [and remember I have to sleep sometime during the day] has really cut into my time. I am trying to keep up with all my fave blogs honest. xxx
After what seemed like forever trying to find a restaurant at 7pm on a Saturday night that didn't have an hour waiting line my daughters and I settled for Kelly's Roast Beef. It was quick, inexpensive and fairly tasty. Oldest and I had lobster rolls and youngest had a scallop roll. You would think I would learn to make a reservation somewhere.... next time maybe.
We all laughed through the entire show and we wished it went on longer. He can joke about the simplest things, like the water bottle, his boots (as seen in the opening picture). He dates Katy Perry in real life and was often bemused when her fans would ask him to take their picture. Her fans don't realize he is "stupid famous" in Britain as he put it, but not so famous in the US. His routines often went off on tangents but he would somehow pull it back to where he started in a seamless manner. I would often forget where he started until he would up the routine.
Since the Brits have different euphemisms than we do in the US, he proceeded to translate them for us, quite funny as he would adopt an American accent when saying the American equivalent. A real talent for comedy I enjoyed the entire show.
A photographer from the Wilbur Theatre came around before the show and took pictures of a lot of the people in the audience for their Facebook fan page. I was in the ladies room when she came by but I am very ok with that.
My lovely daughters.
I took a picture of the fancy work over the stage and when I looked at the picture I realized it said MOM. In the center of the "O" is a W for the Wilbur.
MOM :-)
He has his own interesting style. Always the black skinny jeans and the crazy hair.
He took off his leather jacket later to give us a better look at his American flag tee shirt. He opened with a lot of jokes how he loved Boston but it was painful for a Brit to see the sight of all our victories and it will be hard for Britian to take us back now.
Russell ended the show by bringing out his friend and actor Jonah Hill. Apparently they are promoting a new picture. Jonah was quite funny himself.
Russell and Jonah were both in the theater for autographs after the show but it was very crowded and we didn't get a chance. We did see him acting silly with the fans and weren't too disappointed. We hung out by the driveway that exits the theater and as he drove by with his window open I shouted "America loves you" and he yelled back "thank you".... my claim to Russell Brand fame..
Russell Brand is irreverent and intellectual at the same time. His comedy can be abrasive and his language is raw as are a lot of his topics. He is very animated and he often jestures and pantomimes as he speaks adding more humor to the routine... have a look and Enjoy
I am one of the cool kids, according to Mimi at Living in France, cuz I participated in the Spring Swap hosted by Family of Shorts. All those that participated were matched up with another blogger and we were to send each other packages of spring delights. I was paired up with Deb at A Devonshire Design. Check out her blog it's all classy and interesting. What do I get her pondered...I have a vodka bottle on my blog she designs... I think I was out matched...anyway my package to her is on its way and I want to show you what goodness Deb sent me.
Look at all these lovely surprises. A cool frame, a wine holder, a jar of mango sauce, a vase, some pretty napkins and a calming kit [how did she know I get stressed]
This aroma therapy kit should be just what the doctor ordered after one of my stressful nights at work, they all smell very yummy too. The napkins are just too pretty to use, I may just display them.
I love frames and can't wait to pick out a fun picture to use. I want to know how Deb knew about my limited cooking skills when she sent the Spicy Tropical Mango Slow Cooker Sauce. It is perfect for me and I most certainly be able to come up with something delicious. I'm thinking chicken would be splendid.
The wine holder is adorable but since I don't drink much wine see how adaptable I am? And yes I know that isn't Grey Goose but Kettle One is good too. The furry thing was already mine. It is Lucky the cat wondering what I am doing. [I bed Deb will post her gifts all lovely and stuff, I used my stove and floor ...sigh]
Here's a closer look at the cute design, spring has arrived at my house and I can't wait to have drinks on the deck while my husband grills some fish on the Weber.
Last but not least is this adorable vase. I love the design and the springy colors. I hope to improve my flower bed this summer and what a cute way to enjoy them in the house.
Thanks again to Deb for the great surprises and The Family of Shorts for hosting the Spring Swap...is there a summer one????
I haven't posted a Justifiable Homicide Tuesday in awhile, which is good I suppose, but I have one today. The gym. I hate going to the gym. It takes time and plannig around my sleep which I get too little of as it is. [I work nights for those unfamiliar] I also just don't like to go... it makes you sweat, is boring and painful. So guess what I did.......... I joined a gym.
Yep... I joined Planet Fitness and so far so good. I have been twice and thus far only ridden the stationary bike. Not much you say? Well for me it is a big deal. I am unfit, overweight and have a few arthritic joints to consider. I want to start slow so I don't burn out and never go back. I have been riding for at least 20 minutes and I can feel it in my muscles and joints.
I have a meeting set up with a trainer next week and they help plan a program and will teach me how to use the machines. I hope to work up my riding a bit each day or so until then. I have belonged to gyms before but it has been awhile so I want to be "retrained". I want her to take my bad knees into account and let me increase at a pace that won't "kill me"
My older daughter has been going to this gym for about a year and is very faithful in her attendence. I am hoping she will encourage me to go. She doesn't want to go with me because her work out is longer, we'll work something out even if I have to go back and get her, but hopefully my workouts will get longer and no one will have to wait around [namely me].
My other motivation is my youngest daughter who has wanted to join a gym for awhile. She is too young to get her own membership and the plan I have allows me to bring one guest each visit so she can come with me for no extra charge. I am hoping we can motivate each other....unfortunately she gets her slacker attitude from me.
There are other cool perks such as free tanning [not sure I will use it but a nice option], free massage chairs and discounted beverages...damn no vodka though. :-/
I wasn't going to tell anyone I joined but I thought if I wrote about it would help keep me honest, so blog friends make me go......I'll get back to you from time to time and let you know how I am progressing.
The group I am highlighting today is another British band that was introduced to me by my oldest daughter. Keaneis a piano lead band which distinguishes itself from other mainstream bands. When I mention this group most people say they have never heard of them, but once they hear a couple of songs they have that "ah ha" moment. [copyright Oprah... whatever] They have three studio albums thus far, Hopes and Fears, Under the Iron Sea and Perfect Symmetry.
I have to thank Keane for my expansion into British pop and rock and roll music. Several [many] years ago they were on the Brit Awards, think US Grammy Awards only better, so we taped the show on BBC America. It was a great show that also included performances by Franz Ferdinand, Green Day, Gwen Stefani and many more. The artist that caught my attention was Robbie Williams whom I had never heard of before. He was being presented with the award for the best song in the last 25 years. Angels is his signature song and I was captivated immediately.... I will feature him another time....
We have since seen Keane twice in concert and they have not disappointed either time. Their shows aren't all about the lights and pyrotechniques as with some bands. They do have lights and big screens but it is mostly about the music. Although they are known for being a "guitarless band" they did have a guitar player on their last tour. It did not change the fact the piano and drums are the primary focus.
As usual, below are videos of a few of my favorite songs.

Talking to a girlfriend just today,
Wondering why it had to be this way?
"A Hormone High" I said with wit,
"If only it was" she replied to it.
"A vicious high" I then corrected.
Not so much fun, all disconnected.
Two weeks late, to the ultimate peak.
Best think twice before you speak.
Even before the eventual flow,
Comes the "I don't give a shit" glow.
Pain and bloating an equal treat,
Oh wait, I prefer the swollen feet.
The best is even yet to come,
A deeper gloomier, chemical glum.
Cramps and weakness in the knees,
I can't think straight, or speak with ease.
I have written, it is great to be a girl,
It is, except when in a hormonal whirl.
Beware the next time you make her mad,
You could end up missing a precious gonad.
I am going to attempt to answer some more of the questions you all asked me a couple of weeks ago. Today I am going to tackle some of the more random ones, where your minds come up with these is something I am not sure I want to know........... but that's what makes this and my readers more interesting. Please don't change a thing.
This first question comes from Rush, a lot of you know her from my travels to Indiana and her trips to Boston to visit me. [Rush you owe me a visit gf.] We have had a lot of fun together and a lot of tears so what does she ask me, "What do I really think of corn?" [not sure she thought I would really answer]
Ha Ha Rush. I love corn. I love it, on the cob, in corn bread, creamed and popped. The corn fields all over Indiana, they scare me a little bit. They are creepy at night and I would never want to have my car break down near one. I would lock all the doors and wait for help. Also has anyone seen the movie Children of the Corn? .....'nuff said.

Bossy Betty wanted to know my three all time favorite books.
I absolutely loved Tai Pan by James Clavell. I remember reading it on a long bus ride and I was so engrossed that when I stepped off the bus, while reading about a typhoon, I was hit by a gust of wind and shocked into reality. I thought for a second we were having a typhoon. Clavell wrote a follow up to this book called Noble House. I have tried repeatedly to get "into" it and can't. Shogun, also written by Clavell is also a top contender for favorite book.
As for other favorites, they are hard to choose. I loved Shibumi by Travanian, he also wrote The Eiger Sanction another good book. [remember the movie with Clint yum yum Eastwood?]
I love books by Ken Follett [The Man from St. Petersburg] and Robert Ludlum [the Bourne series]. Alastair Mclean is also a favorite [The Guns of Navarone].
And let's not forget Harry Potter.

Allyson from Magnolias and Mimosas asked, "What is your most fool-proof, unbustable plan for making your mother-in-law disappear?" Do I sense some trouble here with the MIL?
My MIL is 95 years old, no joke, I don't think I need a plan. Sorry Allyson.

Moooooog35 [why all the o's] from Mental Poo wants to know "Why green sneakers?"
WTF..... I don't own a pair but .... why not? We can count of Mooooo35 for the bizarre for sure!!

Adam at Throwing Quarters/podcast inquired about my favorite spirit besides vodka, since I've been drinking a ton.
Huh, is there any other spirit? A ton? I do like my martinis but .................. ;-)
If I have to drink something other than vodka I do like Myer's Rum and pineapple juice or some. X Rated Fusion. And from my last post you will notice I like some tasty cordials.

JP from JP's wanted to know "If my kids were rummaging through my bedroom looking for presents, what embarrassing thing do they find and where?"
I almost didn't answer this one but I figured he would call me a chicken and I am trying not to be despite what I posted here [Chicken Logic]. There may be a book or two of erotic stories in a drawer but that's no secret since I reviewed them here. Anything else hiding out of plain site, perhaps a couple of things but I am going to leave that to you're imagination. [ok so I'm still a bit chicken]
That about does it for this addition...there will be more to follow.
It started with the blog where I asked readers for questions. Mimi from Living in France and I were emailing each other and the subject of snickerbar martinis came up. So I decided to experiment and concoct one. [note my url]
Cathy at Antsy Pants does a Booze Day on Tuesdays and is going to review the recipe at a later date. She is an expert on all things boozey..
I have spent a few days off experimenting on what was the best combination of libations.. hey it's a tough job but someone has to do it. [side affects prevented me from posting this earlier.. whatever]
I bought, Belvedre Vodka, Frangelico, Ameretto DeSarono, Gadiva Chocolate Liqueur and Bailey's Caramel Liqueur. Yes a bit pricey but what is money for the perfect martini. The shot glass was a NYC purchase..that M&M store is amazing.
The first attempt included the Bailey's, Ameretto, Godiva and vodka. I put a shot glass of each into a shaker with ice and......shook. I poured it into a martini glass rimmed with... now stay with me here.....nuts. Yes it was my brilliant older daughters idea to rim the glass with fine ground peanuts. I ground them to the consistancy of sea salt. It was inspiring as it is a delicious addition. Her other inspiration was to use Bailey's Caramel. Remember what is in a Snickerbar? [sorry the only Snickerbar I had was a bite size from Easter, where's the The Bewildered Brit when you need him]
At the same time I made the same drink substituting the Ameretto for the Frangelico. This combination I preferred... Frangelico because it has a nuttier taste than Ameretto. The experimentation continued and my final favorite was.....
1 shot Bailey's Caramel
1 shot Godiva Chocolate
1 shot Frangelico
1 shot vodka [or a little more, I like the boozey taste]
a squirt [technical term btw] chocolate sauce
a squirt of caramel sauce
Put all ingredients in a shaker with ice and .... shake. Pour into a martini glass rimmed with nuts. Another inspiration was to use chocolate sauce on the rim to adhere the nuts.
Only one glass was harmed in the making of this drink. As you can see I made a feeble attempt to look arty by draping the stove with a sheet [wrinkled even] and I caught the sheet at one point and pulled it and one glass [full] to the floor.
Not our eggs weren't as bright because we didn't have any vinegar
If you ever wonder what to do with a dozen or so hard boiled eggs, I have the answer. It has been a family tradition of mine to have creamed eggs on Easter as long as I can remember. We found the eggs and voila they were gone, into a tasty once a year delight. Sometimes the cream sauce was pretty as the sauce would be streaked with blues, purples and reds from the eggs that had cracks in them and the dye seeped into the egg.
My mother would be in the kitchen for what seemed a long time as she patiently stirred the sauce so it wouldn't burn. Once it was finished we would line up as she ladled the egg delishousness into our bowls.
Notice the tattered cookbook under the laptop (gotta do something while I stir continuously)
The recipe for the white sauce comes from my ancient Good Housekeeping cookbook, given to me when I got married. It is on page 352, remembered after 29 years of making it myself.
For a single serving use the following recipe... I triple it.
2 TBS of butter
2 TBS of flour
1 cup milk [or half and half]
paprika
salt
pepper
Melt the butter in a sauce pan and add the flour stirring until smooth. Gradually add the milk, stirring Constantly until thick. Add paprika, salt and pepper to taste.
When sauce is thick add the eggs, sliced, to the sauce and stir until the eggs are warm. Most of the yolks "dissolve" in the sauce but that just adds to the flavor. There will be some pieces left.
Serve on toast or English muffins. I prefer toast but the kids prefer it just ladled into a bowl.
A bowl of Easter delishousness [yeah my English got a little well done, I like them that way]
At Christmas I make the same sauce but use scrambled hamburger. Served the same way or with a fried egg on top. This too has been a family tradition forever.
Yep it's true, I want another man's baby. Not that way..............ha ha. I want the baby he has now. Remember when I went to Cleveland in February? No? You can read about it here and here. I went to Cleveland to meet Adam from Throwing Quarters and his family. I had a lovely time and fell in love with his little daughter Addison. She is the most adorable baby I have had the pleasure to meet in years. [all my friends but one are well past the baby days]
Adam and his wife Jenn post pictures of their children on twitter from time to time to tease me with her cuteness [ok I'm exaggerating]. My daughter schleyguy has also fallen for Addi and she has only seen her in pictures. We think it is her kissable cheeks. They are chubby and when she smiles, her whole face smiles.
When I was in Cleveland I spent a fair amount of time with Addi and she never fussed as some babies would do with a stranger. She is good natured and playful. Jenn tells me she is a screamer when she is hungry or tired. So are my kids I said..
Delicious big sister Audrey and adorable Addison
Last evening I was texting with Adam telling him the most recent picture he posted of Addi was cute and that I wanted her and he said, "she's mine". I offered to trade a teen, just for a little while.
His answer, "lol"
I texted back "fine :( ", and then "Don't get me wrong Audrey [his older daughter] is delicious too but not a baby. You've done well. Not that mine aren't gorgeous but they are smelly adults"
His reply "LOL! Now that's funny"
I said, "You just wait. (I'm always funny)"
"Lol, right. I love you said addison is delicious"
"Audrey" I corrected. "She's such a dear so mature" [she's a grown up 8]
We talked about other stuff, I think he was trying to get my mind off wanting Addi, and that was the end of the conversation.
This morning Adam told me he told Audrey I called her "delicious" she laughed and made a funny face. She'll get it when she's older.
I've tried this on his wife with no luck. I guess they want to keep her.
How adorable is she, especially with her NE Patriots bib
You all can see by the pictures how cute Addison is, don't you think he should share her with me? My daughtres love her too. I am way past having a baby and my daughters are still too young. I think it only fair that I am allowed to have this mans baby.
