Friday 55

These flowers are from my yard

These are from spring,
Sometime ago.
Before the weeds,
Took over the show.

The years first color,
Said hello,
The bleeding hearts
Belie their woe.

Despite no effort
On my part
They grow each year
So clever, so smart.

Maybe next spring,
I'll help them out.
As soon as I see
The years first sprout.

I like how you stated that the bleeding hearts belie their woe.

"Pop...goes the weasel" is my link to my 55...just scroll down below the Halloween part. I do hope you can find time to visit with me! Have a super Friday, and a blessed weekend.

you gotta' give credit to those bleeding hearts. They keep coming back and spreading every year, despite the fact that I don't do any weeding!

I wish my plants would come back with no effort. I think they run for the hills when they see me coming.

Was wondering how you could get your bleeding heart blooming in the fall. Great 55. Like the rhythm and flow.

I love the bleeding hearts!
Wish I had some in my own yard.
They're lovely.

Thanks for doing Friday 55! :)

Mine's been posted here since last night, but it's taken me this long to visit and leave comments. Sorry about that.

Those bleeding hearts remind me of when I was little. My Grammy always had them & we would "pop" them & she would get so mad at us. :)

Ya ya, just go ahead and make the rest of us, people only capable of putting one word in front of the other, feel bad because we can't write lovely prose like you do (or have pretty flowers fighting to get through the underbrush!)
...I'm teasing of course.
That was terrific!

Beautiful snaps, lovely words. We still have blooms down here, but I can feel the cold a-comin'!

I must digg your post so more people can look at it, very useful, I had a tough time finding the results searching on the web, thanks.

I, too, love things that seem to thrive on their own w/ little help from me. I'm a self-professed plant killer. I lack a green thumb. It's quite sad, actually.

Love the poem and I am so glad I am not the only ones who have let the weeds get away from me! I have a bleeding heart that is enormous!!! I think it needs some love as well!

Weeds are so quick to exploit our busisess, eh? Now we get more colour to celebrate the end of the season.
