Weight loss challenge-Week 2

It's never as much as I want but at least I continue to lose weight each week. This week I lost 1.5 pounds for a total of 4 since Adam and I started our challenge. It would appear Adam won again....sigh....

I have discovered there are lots of  pros and even cons of losing weight... we all know the pros, our health, how we look and how we feel about ourselves. The cons on the other hand aren't always considered. Don't get me wrong the pros still out weigh (lol) the cons but they are something to be considered...... sort of...ok not at all but I'm going to tell  you anyway.

  • Gym fees...not too bad thankfully
  • Bottled water....need to get a water filter
  • Healthy food.....who'd of thought it was so expensive to buy healthy
  • New clothes.... I have been buying a few but will need more as I go.
  • Gym clothes... Basically I have been wearing old clothes but I did buy a few tees and some sweat pants.
  • Zits.....Today I bought a couple of those Dri-Fit shirts. Mine happen to be Nike but there are other brands. I am hoping by keeping the sweat off my skin it will stop my chest and shoulders from breaking out. I guess you are never too old to break out.
I refuse to let any of this to stop me but I just wanted to share some of my observations.

Hey Adam... congratulations you loser. :-)

Anyone else have some pros and cons?

After watching food inc, I do find it very disconcerting that buying healthy food is more expensive. I'm pretty bummed about it, but like thee band Queen said, 'you can't stop me now!'

I don't know if it's a fair challenge for you and Adam. Men and women lose weight differently. There must be some sort of conversion chart to even this out. I'll bet you wouldn't be losing every week. You're doing great!

You are doing really well!
I bought a Wii Dance as well as a Wii Fit, and although the music on the Wii Dance isn't that good (Black or White by Michael Jackson, and some pretty rubbish songs!) it seems to be doing the job.
Yeah, men and woman lose weight differently, and the first place I tend to loose it is from my boobs....the last place I want to lose it from!

smiles. you still have positive movement and that is a good thing...keep at it...the pros will far outweigh (nuck nuck) the cons...

I think 1.5 lbs. in a week is GREAT! Keep up the good work!

Great job so far!

I think Neutragena (sp?) makes a body wash (and a bar to) to prevent body breakouts.

Men lose weight much easier than women! I'll starve for a month, then watch husband lose five lbs by not ordering pepperoni on his pizza for one night.

Good for you for the 1.5 lbs, that is great -- keep up your hard work!

Forget spending your money on new clothes as you lose weight. Why buy new clothes that will be too big for you in a couple of weeks? Go to the Good Will or a thrift shop and get some clothes for the interim sizes. There are some really nice things that will cost you pennies. When you reach your goal....THEN buy new clothes!! Then....GET RID of your big clothes. Keep one pair of pants at your biggest size so you have a point of reference and a reminder of what you once were and will not return to! Go on the "Biggest Loser" web site and figure out how to calculate percentage of weight loss. That's how they do it to make it a fair competition between men and women.

You are rockin!

Gym clothes...grrr. I search far and wide for the right clothes. They must be comfortable and fit well and I would prefer if they didn't shrink in the dryer!

If I could find gym clothes that made me look skinny...well, I guess I wouldn't need to go to the gym would I?! LOL
Also, congrats! You are doing great!
Buying healthy food is expensive. It's "the man's" way of keeping us down and keeping us fat. I have no idea who "the man" is, but he's out there. Oh yes, he is out there.

I had the same thought: who da thunk it would cost so much to eat healthy? Good job on your loss! : )

Great Job, but BRAVE for trying to lose weight in a challenge with a man. My hubby did not do anything different I noticed and had lost like 20 lbs in a month.
