Friday 55-The Colors of You

This is about my youngest daughter (15 3/4) who is being tried through her entire teen age years.
Some she brings on herself some is put upon her.....as her mother it can be painful for me too, to watch and participate. Any guesses as to what the colors are refering... I have mentioned it before.

***************

Red
Pink
Black
Blond
These are the colors of you.

Thoughtful
Happy
Sad
Gloomy
These are the moods of you.

Artistic
Musical
Friendly
Comical
These are the talents of you.

No matter where,
In this world you travel.

Follow your sounds and colors.

And remember your teens as a time of
Discovery,
Not pain.

The colors are the colors of her hair, past, present, future. The teens years are so difficult, which is sad, because they should be filled with fun and laughter and all the care free stuff of early adulthood. Sigh.

Do my kids HAVE to go through the teen years? Really? She's already a mess and she's 12...

There's some interesting research about the teenage brain - frontal lobes are not fully developed, hence the impulsivity and self-centeredness. Still, I've got two teens and most of the time they are joys to me. The rest of the time? Well, I try to be patient.

As a teen who also had many different hair colors, I can tell your daughter that one day she will be out of high school and everything will be much better. She will enter the "real world" and everyone will be on equal ground. It will no longer matter who was the nerd, or the freak, or the star quarterback. She'll still be tried, but will find more acceptance as well. Tell her to hang in there!

What a great tribute to your lil girl. Well, guess she's not that little, huh?
Anyway, the colors have to be her hair, right?

I loved this 55. Just wonderful. My teen years were full of discovery AND plenty of pain.
