Music Monday-What songs Inspire You?
As some may know I have recently joined a gym. I am actually liking it and trying to go most days. I have been increasing my time on the bike and I have managed to lose 10 pounds. [long way to go but a start]
I have found the most important thing to get me motivated is my ipod shuffle [see picture above]. I have a classic ipod but it is too bulky. I have loaded the shuffle with songs that are peppy, loud and have a great beat. I have posted the list below, it is strictly a copy and paste from itunes. [who ever invented copy and paste deserves a Nobel Prize imo]. I have kept the song length, artist and album title incase anyone is interested in the songs. The songs hightlighted in red are particular favorites. I know there are some repeats or some that people might not think are inspiring but it is my list and some songs are just because I like them. The ipod shuffle also clips easily to the sleeve of my tee shirt and is out of the way.
Supersonic by Oasis kept me on the bike 5 extra minutes today. I had done my half hour and the machines and went back to the bike for 10 more minutes. I wasn't going to do the 5 minute cool down but when the song came on I decided to stay until the end...guess what it is almost 5 minutes long and I finished the extra time.
It's a longish list but have a peruse and let me know what you think. I would also love some suggestions if you have any songs that inspire you. Thanks ahead of time

Dang! That was one heck of a list. Some pretty good listening there. I don't guess I could just come up with a list for myself off the top of my head. The most I exercise is an hour walk every day (due to an heart thing) and no music goes with me. A lot of times I walk thru an outdoor shopping center across the street from my house and listen to whatever piped in stuff they're playing, otherwise it's the music in my mind which are usually my own songs.
Hey you gonna follow my blog or what? You really should you know cause there is just so much eclectic stuff I write about. I'm going to follow you so I hope you'll do the same for me.
Thanks
Lee

WOW that is a HUGE list... I loved a lot of the tracks you chose, I think I may just have to steal your playlist in an attempt to get into my gym... coz then if it doesn't work I can blame you ;0)
nice list...good mix. and congrats on sticking witht he gym....thats awesome!
Congrats on the 10 pounds! I know what a big accomplishment that is! what a great list! I love songs that get me moving. Lady gaga has some really good tracks for working out, and I like the Black Eyed Peas Ellaphunk album, and Nodoubt's Hellagood.
I don't have a lot of inspiring songs these days...
But "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie is stuck in my head right now...
10 POUNDS!! Amazing! Keep it up!!
Loved your list and omg we have the same shuffle! Is yours green? Mine is! I'm going to go through your list again tonight and add some songs to my iTunes!
I actually like your eclectic list and that cute little green ipod. I still have the old pink ipod minis which really aren't that mini. But I can't bear to replace it when it works. Good luck with the workouts!
Monday confessional: EMINEM!
EMINEM all the way. Especially "Lose yourself."
Oh, if my kids only knew...
That's an impressive workout music list! I always knew you had good taste in music! ;)
I miss the gym.
I never thought I would say that in my life, but 10 days on the couch has me yearning for the gym.
Anyway, that is a great list. Right now I cannot stop listening to Black Number 1 by Type O Negative. It is a stupid and cheesy song but it makes me laugh.
i love to look at people's music list, its as much fun as looking in their purses and medicine cabinets!
i'm too lazy to work out, but when i did, i have a specially compiled list of ricky martin songs that really inspire me. they get me going and feeling sexy and when he needs a middle aged mom for his next music video i'll be ready.
For some reason the Live Version of Clocks by Coldplay keeps me on the treadmill just a bit longer, faster, etc.
Love the list.
Good Lord, I just listen to Slacker radio on my Blackberry...you put some time into that list!
You have some really eclectic taste! I love it. I like to think my iPod is eclectic too. :)
Since I love many of the sings you posted (LOVE Green Day), I should probably check out some of the ones I've never heard of. I use the shuffle function on my iPhone when I go walking.
Anything Beatles...that's the way I roll!
Great going - 10 Lbs - yay!
Also great list - maybe Sex On Fire by Kings of Leon; Your Love - The Outfield; maybe some Duran Duran?
