I'm a Snickerbar Addict Martini
It started with the blog where I asked readers for questions. Mimi from Living in France and I were emailing each other and the subject of snickerbar martinis came up. So I decided to experiment and concoct one. [note my url]
Cathy at Antsy Pants does a Booze Day on Tuesdays and is going to review the recipe at a later date. She is an expert on all things boozey..
I have spent a few days off experimenting on what was the best combination of libations.. hey it's a tough job but someone has to do it. [side affects prevented me from posting this earlier.. whatever]
I bought, Belvedre Vodka, Frangelico, Ameretto DeSarono, Gadiva Chocolate Liqueur and Bailey's Caramel Liqueur. Yes a bit pricey but what is money for the perfect martini. The shot glass was a NYC purchase..that M&M store is amazing.
The first attempt included the Bailey's, Ameretto, Godiva and vodka. I put a shot glass of each into a shaker with ice and......shook. I poured it into a martini glass rimmed with... now stay with me here.....nuts. Yes it was my brilliant older daughters idea to rim the glass with fine ground peanuts. I ground them to the consistancy of sea salt. It was inspiring as it is a delicious addition. Her other inspiration was to use Bailey's Caramel. Remember what is in a Snickerbar? [sorry the only Snickerbar I had was a bite size from Easter, where's the The Bewildered Brit when you need him]
At the same time I made the same drink substituting the Ameretto for the Frangelico. This combination I preferred... Frangelico because it has a nuttier taste than Ameretto. The experimentation continued and my final favorite was.....
1 shot Bailey's Caramel
1 shot Godiva Chocolate
1 shot Frangelico
1 shot vodka [or a little more, I like the boozey taste]
a squirt [technical term btw] chocolate sauce
a squirt of caramel sauce
Put all ingredients in a shaker with ice and .... shake. Pour into a martini glass rimmed with nuts. Another inspiration was to use chocolate sauce on the rim to adhere the nuts.
Only one glass was harmed in the making of this drink. As you can see I made a feeble attempt to look arty by draping the stove with a sheet [wrinkled even] and I caught the sheet at one point and pulled it and one glass [full] to the floor.

very nice...so good taste? the sheet is a nice touch...smiles.
Mmmm... I want one!
I love Bailey's - this sounds AWESOME!
This looks SOOOO Yummy! I must try!!
Sounds like a good excuse to have some friends over! Were you cackling madly in your "Laboratory"?
sorry but a martini needs to be cold and crisp...what you have here is a pousse cafe. Layering them makes them even better. They have different weights so the heaviest is at the bottom with the vodka floating on the top. It's an art...
I can't wait to try this! Great job!! My review should be up in a few weeks and I'll link back to this post! Thanks for taking the time to experiment with recipes...I'm sure it was horrible;)
Wow! Now I have a solution for all of my cordials.....I have all the ingredients - WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That sounds damn good!
WOW! That sounds and looks so good - i will have to try that out for sure!

So how did it taste?
That's brilliant and sinful. Yum!
That sounds delicious! But if I'm gonna blow my diet, I'd rather have a real Snickers bar. I'm a chocolate addict...that's my drug!
Thank you so much for stopping by on my feature day and making me feel special.
This drink sounds fabulous. I had the best martini I've ever had last summer. It was an oatmeal cookie. Unfortunately, it was while we were on vacation, so unless I go back to Connecticut, I won't be having any more.
Yuuuuummmm! When can I come over for one?
Okay -that sounds DELICIOUS!!! IU love the touch of the ground nuts- so professional! Now you've got a signature drink - how cool.
OMG! I love martinis, and this one sounds devine......Im making it tonight....can I post it on my tgif drink on man dish sometime...PL:EASE:)??
Sounds like fun - not sure if I will try though LOL. Whole lot cheaper to be really really good friends with a bartender - I used to experiment with drinks in Connecticut - great bar in Rowaten.
Oh that looks like a delicious, albeit expensive, concoction. I'm totally going to try it. I wish I had thought of this when I was still slinging drinks at Clarke's in Fanieul Hall, then I could have tossed it together for free and named it after you...ahh the good ol' days.

What a delicious and naughty way to feed a sweet tooth!
I would rather have yours than Susan's. I don't like my vodka floating on top. Looks delicious and I can't wait to meet you in Cleveland and have one!
pousse schmousse
I don't do martinis but think I will let my husband make this for me. Yummmmm!
I was following your tweets on this! Amazing idea for a martini.
Dude! I always knew I inspired people to drink!
That looks SOOOO good! Thanks for the shout out. :)
I'm here!
And: ZOMG!
Candy + alcohol = heaven

YOW!!!! This would make me very happy!
The Yummms:P
Crap its only 4 - can I have a martini at 4? This sounds superb! At the very least I will have a snickers in anticipation of trying this! Thanks!
I have a friend who always gets cocktails like Cosmopolitans. They are fine, but I generally opt for red wine.
hmmm. yum!
I made a simple chocolate-tini this sounds off the charts.
Cathy reviewed mine too.
Just discovered your blog from Cathy from Antsy Pants! This drink looks amazing!!!!
