Pimples, are the bane of my existence. Seems they should no longer bother me now that I'm an adult. But nooooo they still pop up at the most inopportune times. I had to get one just as I am going on vacation. Let's hope some make up can do its magic and hide the offender.
Weather, I hate weather. Weather scares me. Wimp you say, yep that's me. To clarify it is bad weather specifically. Impending thunder storms get me all worked up and nervous. Watching the sky darken and then the first booms of thunder send me straight to the mall so I don't have to be alone and hopefully not able to hear the thunder. Admittedly I have gotten better over the last 10 years or so.
Snow storms are fairly common place in my part of the country and for the most part I am ok with them if the snowfall expected stays in single digits. I don't mind watching it fall through the safety of my living room window, but to drive in it can be bothersome. It seems I always have to work when we are expecting snow. Working the night shift at least ensures me there will be less cars on the road and therefore less things to potentially run into me. Because my job is considered essential the hospital has sent the police to pick me up when the snow was considered bad enough to declare a state of emergency. [PS the police drive like crazy people in the snow]
I am flying out to Cleveland to visit with Throwing Quarters and his family on Wednesday and we are expecting snow. The thought of flying during a snow storm is not comforting. Will I? You bet. I have been looking forward to the trip and not one for wasting hard earned money I will fly if the airport says it's ok. The second leg of the trip is to Indianapolis to see a best girl friend and we have a lot planned. I hear that Cleveland is expecting a foot of snow this week... I wonder how long it would take me to walk to Indy?

YUP..I'm with you on the weather thing. I have a white knuckled 30 minute drive to work everyday and I am SO OVER Minnesota's heavy crop of snow and ice right now. And summer storms? Well, if the skies get dark and the wind comes up, I can pack an emergency laundry basket full-o-necessities and be in the basement in under 2 minutes flat. It's a gift. :)
Well make that vacation trip a good one. The pimple won't spoil it, don't worry.

Yeah, the ultimate insult, pimples, gray hair and wrinkles.
I never minded driving in the snow. But like so many things, as I get older I like it less.
I flew in a snow storm a few years ago. I asked the flight attendant if they could still fly in such a storm and she gave me a dirty look.
I hope your air travel isn't thrown off by the storms. The midwest is being hit today! Safe travels!
We're expecting 5-9 inches today... woohoo. Not.
We are expecting more snow here too, but the weather that scares me most is the fog! You just never know who or what is lurking there...and it's like walking into the unknown!
As for pimples, well I just blame sitting in a centrally heated room day after day! I feel I really need to get some fresh air, and I long for the sun to shine properly again!
This really has been such a long Winter!
Safe journey, and please can you send some sunshine over this way?
snow and ice again today...i am so ready for spring...weather sucks right now.
i do like a good thunderstorm though...
I hear you. I am not happy about the snow in the forecast.
I was doing so well this winter with avoiding the seasonal depression and then I woke up this morning and feel like it just kicked in. I am tired of winter and want it to go away forever!
Up here in the mountains of Canada we are NOT getting snow...and we are hosting the winter Olympics. Weird winter weather...we are usually buried by all of the snow. This year it is just not happening and we MISS it!
Pimples are a way of life around these parts. I blame the blogs I read because I sit with my face resting on my hand...which, my beauty-school-dropout-sister tells me is very bad for the skin.
I know you all are getting pounded with snow. We just got another 4 inches last night (I know..tiny violins, it's not 30) and now it's freezing rain. I would like to buy a warm day, please Vanna.
Have fun on your trip. The walk to Indy is not so bad. Stay away from the Indiana hillbillies. They eat their young.
enjoy the trip! It's pretty weather on the right side of the window!
Enjoy your trip.Have a great time!
Travel safe!

An airplane is the safest place to be during a snowstorm. (I am totally making this up, but forget about this part in parentheses and live in the world of the first sentence.)
I made the bf drive me to work this morning. There was way too much snow for me not to freak out while driving!
Makeup has been my friend this week!
TRUE STORY: the day after getting my very first pr of glasses(IM 42 and never worn glassses, so I already felt a bit out of sorts) I had a very important meeting, I wake up, put on my glasses look in the mirror and right on the tip of my nose, over night had appear a mountain of zit...big, red, and on the tip of my nose......arggggggggg;(
And is it just me or are these zits way more painful then they used to be??!! Have a good vacation!!!
we're getting 6-10 inches tonight and right now it is snowing blue blazzes.
traveling mercies to you and your flight crew
Have a safe trip.... hope the weather does not slow you down.
I love your justifiable Tuesday posts.
Mary
Deathly afraid of thunderstorms myself. ack.
Just last week a few friends and I were discussing how we never thought we could discuss zits and wrinkles in the same breath. What's up with that?
Have a good trip!
It'll be ok, statistically you're more likely to get in a car wreck on the WAY to the airport.
Just txt when you're in the air
Well I flew into NYC in a snow storm a few years ago - they keep you pretty safe. Safer than walking - trust me
Have a blast!!!
Secret make-up artist/retired drag queen tip: Dab a little bit of regular plaino toothpaste on the offending pimple before going to bed and leave it. In most cases, it will dry it up overnight.
i can't figure out which is more stressful the weather bad enough to delay or cancel a flight or feeling that the flight should be delayed/cancelled and it is not. enjoy your vacation and friends and show us your pimple.
Have a safe trip! Zits suck!
It's the thunder dark skys that turn GREEN that get me. Snow. pff we can handle that! Enjoy your trip:)
Oh, I hear you on the weather thing! It's going to snow here in CT tomorrow like, 12 - 15 inches. Yikes!
oohhh i LOVE storms! especially thunder and lightening! but i am not a snow fan what so ever!! don't let a little blemish bring you down, i hope you have an amazing vacation!!!
Be safe mama! It's snowing outside my window right now, crazy!
I may have asked the vacation too soon. Looks like you're heading out to see Adam and Kelly I presume. I follow them too, and talked with them this morning on the podcast.
Enjoy the trip.
I'm ready for spring and it's not even snowing here.
The worst I've experienced is thunderstorm in an aeroplane. Things are flying, people are screaming and the whole ride is like in a roller coaster! That is scary.
Safe travel!
