I was going to say my mood was justifiably homicidal, which is still true. I am beyond tired, achey and just in an over all pissy mood so what changed my mind? I was picking my daughter up from college [I had appointments all morning so needed the car] and some truck, a large delivery type, decided we weren't pulling out of the intersection fast enough and he passed us by on our right. If he hadn't pulled up so close we could have seen to pull out but he was in such a hurry he couldn't wait. We honked as he sped up the street.
We passed him after he had pulled into a store. He was out of the truck carrying a box into the store and I [so maturely] yelled out the window. "I'm calling your boss" and his equally mature reply was "Fuck you".
Meanwhile I got out my trusty BlackBerry and made a note of the company he worked for, emblazoned on the side of the truck, the time, location and his description.. red crew cut hair.
We went home had lunch when I remembered to call, I googled the company [I love google] and called. A woman answered and I asked for a manager. She asked why and I said it was about one of their drivers so she transferred me to shipping. I explained the situation and the man said I know who it is we only have one driver in that area. I said a "red head" and he said yes. He promised to call the driver and I think he will. He thanked me and said, they can't do anything if people don't call.
I am not trying to get the man fired, but I do think he needs some manners and saftey training.
I have done this one other time when I called about a FedEx driver that ran a stop sign in our neighborhood. In that case they called me back [obviously having taken down my details.]
I must admit it felt good to stick it to the driver...

WELL DONE! I'm like you, I don't want to get anyone fired but damn if I don't want someone to have to pay/own up to their behavior. You doing this will probably help other people on the road that have to deal with him too. NICE!
Now someone just needs to invent a way of reporting private car drivers.......
So many people need to learn to be safer on the roads.
I'll call too if someone deserves it, but then I have called a time or two to compliment a driver.
IMNHSO, it's not that he did something stupid while driving... we all do that sometimes... It's that he did something stupid and then was an ass about it.
GOOD FOR YOU!!! These idiots need to be reported - like you say not to lose their jobs but to learn some respect for other drivers. They aren't the only people on the road!!!
My belief is that when they give a "FUCK YOU" as an answer they know they were in the wrong.
VL, man i hate when they do that, well i need to go put some more gell on my crew cut right now.............jk
BIG HUGS
I think the inexcusable part is that he did not just say "sorry" but had to say "eff you."
Not a very smart guy when his number is right on his car.
Mean people suck. But this guy really sucks.
Ahem. I call all the time. I even called the Better Business Bureau on some douche. I called the company to complain and ended up with an earful from the guy that answered the phone. Wrong move, buddy. Anyone fucks with me, that's one thing, but when you carelessly blow through a stop sign when I'm about to pass the intersection and have my kids in the car, I'll fuck you up. Really not a smart move to do shit like this when the name and phone number of the company you work for are on the truck.
yep. would have called as well...and the comment back...would have been punctuated by my finger stabbing the send button...
Good job! I'm glad you called! dozy knobends like this really need to realise they can't do this sort of stuff.
GOOD FOR YOU! I would, and have, done just the same thing!
What really annoyed me, was just on Monday, I got a note saying that a parcel had tried to be delivered at 8:15 a.m., and I know for a fact that there is no way our post comes that time in the morning, and could I call at the Post Office in 6 hours time to collect it!
I mean, it's about a 20 minute drive to get to my local Post Office, and wasting time to go into Town is just not on!
Believe me, a stern talking to was involved at the Post Office, it could have been delivered the following day. GRRR! Men!!!!
GOOD JOB! I do that stuff from time to time.
In fact, I reported a cab driver just last week. He drove us home from the airport and I swear that man had road rage! He almost ran someone off the road!

Just yesterday morning a toddler who was in a jogging stroller and was being pushed by his mom, was struck and killed in an intersection by a huge truck. About 15 miles away from here. The trucks are so big and think they own the road...I don't know if the truck driver was being a jerk or if he simply (as if it could ever be simple to take a life) didn't see. Tragic. Truck drivers need to be more responsible.
brilliant use for a blackberry;)
Good for you. My dad was an over-the-road truck driver for 30 years and never had an accident. The idiots that drive badly need to be reported and get their cdl's taken away. They need to realize how dangerous those big trucks can be. There are responsible drivers out there, but sadly the bad ones are the ones who get noticed.
Good for you. I'd have done the same.
The truckers can't be anonymous with the phone number on their trucks!
I think that's awesome! And how stupid is that -- telling someone to F Off with the name of your employer on the side of your truck? DUH!
Ugh...damn truck drivers!!

You go!!! I hate bad drivers. Especially when my kids are in the car!
Making the call was satisfying I am sure, but wouldn't a personal taser gun been lovely as well?
I would have done the same!
Good for you! You know what, that guy probably figures that he can do whatever he wants as far as other drivers, thinking no one will take the time to do what you did. I have written down (also on my Blackberry) the names of companies to call so many times, but never followed through. Good for you for actually doing it!
If I was a company owner with trucks on the road I was liable for, I'd want to know. What if you had stopped for a child crossing the road and he came barreling through? It makes me shiver just thinking about it. I see that kind of crazy driving here all the time and it infuriates me. The arrogance. Good on you for calling him out. - G
