Cribs-Vodka Logic Style

Welcome to my crib. After finally excavating the car from the snow drift in the driveway I made my way to the grocery store and spent $300 dollars. What does that have to do with my crib? As I loaded the freezer and fridge with food it reminded me of the show Cribs on MTV. Celebrities open their open their homes to the cameras and show you around. Personally I think all the houses look the same. Part of the tour is the fridge. They are usually lined with some designer water or juice and the Cristal is always chilling.

In my version I will spare you the house part of the tour, besides I would have to vaccum and the bathroom is a bit of a mess right now. So I am going to show you my fridge and freezer only and show you what $300 can buy at the Big Y.

just brought in from the car

what stove

freezer

fridge, there are some healthy things there for Monday

painful to see but here's my receipt

The show usually ends with the celeb showing you all their fancy cars and bikes and then they shoo people off.. with a flick of the wrist.

Here's my fancy Subaru Forrester. The all wheel drive didn't make it up the hill and through the drifts.

Car half way up driveway in a drift
Ok you can all go home now, nothing left here to see.... but leave a comment first. :)

It's exciting and reassurring to file up the house with food. I love it when the kitchen cabinest look like a grocery store! OK I am a food-crazy woman.

That must be some snow if your AWD car won't get thru it!

So you had to lug all those groceries into the house from halfway up the driveway?!! The injustice of it all!

I'm coming to YOUR house, you have food!

Your fridge should be jam-packed for $300.

Yeah, right-I wish. My boys already eat like they are teenagers and the oldest only just turned 5. I'm in trouble.

How completely ironic that I'm reading this post as I procrastinate doing my Monday morning grocery trip. I've always wondered what $300 would get you at the grocery store. I've only ever spent $300 at Sam's and I can tell ya...it looks much the same except no bags and everything is in cases. Sooo....do we get recipes for that $300 in groceries? I need INSPIRATION. Otherwise it's beef stew. Again.

Yeah well, the celeb cribs only look like that cuz no one ever lives in them. They're off being too famous and wonderful. They probably have an assistant who makes the fridge crib-worthy.

Unfortunately, for the rest of us, we are our assistants, trudging uphill through the snow with overpriced groceries. Now, me? I'd much rather watch a show with a fridge like yours...and mine. Although, I'd take the celebs' cars any day of the week. ;) Thanks!

That sure is a long way to carry all those groceries. I hope you had help!! My car would never make it up my dad's driveway so it would be parked at the bottom or even at the liquor store just a few mins up the road if our road was bad. My dad had a jeep, but it had blown a tire (that winter in 2004) when he took an old lady home from work! So he got to use my car to go to work. Talk about a fun winter!

Yikes!! This IS some receipt! I remember when I was a kid and my mom and I used to go to the commissary on base for grocery day...we would walk out with a piece of paper the height of the Eiffel Tower...I was always amazed!

I love seeing other people stuff! Even groceries are interesting when they're someone else's. :)

That is hysterical -- so like watching CRIBS that I could hardly tell them apart.

On the upside, you have food!!! My pantry and fridge are so empty looks like an outtake from Mad Max, after the hordes have pillaged what few scraps there were!

There's nothing like being stocked up in a snow storm. Now just sit back and relax and enjoy the snow! - G

Yo Yo - love your crib, babe.

Makes me realize that I am not alone in my need to organize my own crib.

We stick to $150 a week as our grocery budget...it's so hard to keep it inexpensive!

I have a grocery receipt on my fridge for just over $300 - and its only two of us. Reminder to me to never let the house get low on food again - EVER!!!

Poor car - is it better now out there?

Did you get a camera for Christmas too? Nice macro effect on the receipt

Blimey that's a lot of food! Mind you, as soon as I can get out to the store I'll be doing something similar: I don't want to have to go out in this weather again. Ever! :D

That is a lot of food--you are clearly prepared.

Damn - you must have some serious snow if you can't get your AWD up the hill!

All that snow makes me want summer so badly! And lugging those groceries? Not so fun.

Thanks for allowing us all in your crib -- so are you shooing us away now? I'm kinda hungry....

Nice crib!

Crazy snow. I don't want any more of it. We've already been bombarded by snow drifts so I'm done with the white stuff.

How did you get the groceries in the house if your car stopped short? I sure would love some snow here, but wouldn't want to lug my groceries in from farher than my driveway...
