Time Out for Theta Mom

Theta Mom is a blogger,
With a Thursday meme.
A popular one too,
So it would seem.

Come meet other bloggers,
And see what they do.
When allowed on their own,
For a minute or two.

Do they sleep, do they shop?
Do they drink or just talk.
Perhaps take the dog,
On a well deserved walk.

As you travel around,
The blogosphere you will see.
The activities are as varied,
As could possibly be.

Most of My time,
Is spent any which way.
But I always feel quilty,
Visiting Theta on Thursday.

My children are older,
And do as they please.
I don't want to brag,
She'll think I'm a tease.

So I read her posts,
And feel glad if she rests.
Away from her family,
I'm sure they can pest.

Other mothers come here,
And share of their pleasure.
The little alone time they get
That most of us treasure.

The kids will grow up,
And be all "Mom let me be."
They'll worry you silly,
Now old enough to be free.

With all of my down time,
I should be relaxed and in bed.
Instead of alone time
Now I'm just filled with dread.

So enjoy you spare time,
While in the crib the babes drop.
As I sit here and hope,
Mine aren't brought home by a cop.

Way to keep it in perspective. Last night our kids were slobs at the dinner table. When they cleaered their plates it was ---ew! William was like, 'they are pigs, and my sweet little girl is the biggest slob of all.' Cassie is six. I told him 'In 9 years she'll be driving off on dates with boys and you'll wish she were here making a mess!'

I'm going to check out T.M.

Great poem!
