Photo Phinish Phriday

I have been enjoying this Phriday blog. I always have my Blackberry with me and have fun looking for something interesting to post on Phridays. [interesting to me anyway]

Todays are mostly shots from work. I thought I would give you a little look at what I am doing while you are all snug in your beds with sugar plums dancing around in your heads. [you can groan, just an attempt at some Christmas humor]

This is the "bench" area as we call it, where patients samples are tested.

Photobucket
Another part of the bench area, used more for crossmatches and manual testing.

Photobucket
This is called the Provue, where we batch samples from the clinics. I think we have tested every pregnant woman in the state of Massachusetts.

Photobucket
The Blood Bank Christmas Tree, next to my Robbie Williams mug for perspective.
Merry &^%$# Christmas.... lol

Photobucket
And finally you might recall Sundays blog poem called Heat? This fire was started by me, Ms. Pioneer Woman.

I hope you had a chuckle...see you next week with more.

LOL at Mr C's comment! :)

You certainly have an intriguing job!

That's a cute little tree - love how you left the price tag on it... ;)

Excellent fire making skills! :)

Mr Uber.. a tech bought the tree.

Mr C.. sorry but the woman are already pregnant.. all of them [better luck next time, Mr Busy lol]. We are testing for blood type etc.

Stacy..not sure about intriguing after all these years.. and my fire building skills improve yearly just don't tell my family.

I don't know. Somehow I didn't think this is what you were doing at night. To be fair, I haven't had the chance to read back very far on a lot of blogs I'm following, so maybe I just haven't seen anything about what you actually do. I don't know what I thought you were doing, but this would have been the last thought.

We spent yesterday at the hospital for Ella Numera Dos's shoulder surgery. I loved the incongruence of the festive holiday decorations juxtaposed with the "taking-care-of-business" medical ambiance...

I"m lovin that tree. Brings just about as much holiday cheer as I can handle. 99 cents hells yeah. But the Robbie Williams coffee mug? priceless.

the tree is simply overwhelming. I am at a loss for words....

Either that tree is very, very small; or the Robbie Williams mug is very, very big...

Is it consistently busy all year round or do you get surges at certain times of the year?

Your job looks like something I know nothing about....therefore complicated. I do love the tree though.

Okay - sooooo I could have SO gotten through my day without seeing a picture of all of those needles - I am TERRIFIED of needles girlfriend! BLECK! Better you than me, I guess. On another note, I'm sorry you didn't make it to see the Rockettes this year - I hope you make it next year and we can meet up while you're here. Have a great weekend! Hugs! :o)

Lab work is so vital to people's health, I think you are among the under-appreciated of the health professionals. Thanks for the job you do.

OMG I must now squeal ROBBIE WILLIAMS!!! Ok, feeling better now. But the problem is, every time I think of him I have this little internal replay of that creepy music video where he strips off everything down to his skeleton. I haven't been able to eat red meat since he flung his ass cheeks into the crowd. Wait, I seem to have gotten offtrack here somehow. Um, nice tree.
