I have had a lovely trip in Indiana so far. As Rush met me at the airport and went to give me a hug she hung a Colts scarf around my neck. I am still trying to figure out how to get it home and stay alive.. My husband is a diehard New England Patriots fan.... he said it was raining here because God hates the Colts...funny guy.
We spend a nice quiet day at her house and after lunch and a too short nap we went to eat at Bravo Cucina Italiana The eggplant parmagania was delicious as was the Espresso Martini.
Espresso Martini and Rasberrytini
Following a scary-ish drive through back streets and drying corn fields we arrived at Indiana Live my very first trip to a Casino. It was like going to Santa's Wonderland when I walked inside, all the lights and bells and whistles. Fascinating. Our first stop however was a bar [go figure] and we asked for a Hypnotic Martini and an X rated Fusion Martini....the waitress came back saying they didn't know how to make them or charge for them. Rush explained and when we got our drinks we were appalled. The poor waitress [who was just adorable] felt so bad and even embarassed to serve them. We drank them and moved along. We went into a restaurant at the casino and the manager came over and we had a nice chat about the disasterous drinks we just had and we ordered our drinks again. I went for the standard "extra dry Grey Goose Martini" and Rush had a real "Hypnotic Martini" in fact we each had two.Martini and a Hypnotic
We left happy and wandered some more looking for "Wheel of Fortune" we found the $1 ones and I put in $20 and left with $39 and Rush put in $40 and left with $69. We found some .25 "Wheel of Fortune" games and played some more. I left with $42 and Rush broke even with $40. It may sound simple but I had a blast. We decided to go back to the original bar [you would think we would learn] and sat at the bar. The band was ok.. she segued from Miley Cyrus to Led Zep covers..bizarre. We sat at the bar some more and still no attention from the bartender...she seemed engrossed in the band...whatever. I said to Rush I should throw some matches at her [there were baskets full on the bar] and well......I did. I didn't hit her but the match book did sail in front of her eyes and when she turned to look I flagged her down. And we ordered Buttery Nipples. Shot that came in orange juice glasses. I did apologize to her explaining I had try to get her attention by waving [truth] but she didnt see and the band was to loud to holler to her.
It was great fun, my only complaint is all the smoking. For the most part it is bearable but the lady next to me at "Wheel of Fortune" smoked and the ashtray was right next to me...yuck.
We even remembered our way home [I told Rush there was no way I was getting out of the car in this wilderness] and I slep very well.
We woke up to no internet still [we realized when we got home it was out] and it wasn't fixed until afternoon. For two internet addicted ladies that was pure torture...thank goodness for BlackBerrys.
It was a quiet day at home for the most part but we are now drinking some vodka punch and heading out to dinner at Marc Pi's and then to Nicky Blane's Martini Bar [no worries, as if....we are cabbing it home]
More to follow............

Funny you had to travel to Indiana for your first casino experience instead of hitting Foxwoods. Glad you're having a great time w/ your friend.
I'm suddenly craving a martini.
Glad to hear your having a good time!!!
Espresso Martini and Rasberrytini, never heard of them . . but then I don't drink so there's a clue!
Sounds like you two had great fun and a casino. . . never been in one either.
Had great fun reading this post, almost as much fun as you two seemed to have had. Love the wheel of fortune . . and you both won. Now that's what I call a result!
Smoking . . yuck . . why do people do that?
Have a blessed Sunday and see you again soon! xxx

Sounds like you are having a BLAST! I can't wait to see more pictures of your trip. P.S. I am more of a sports fanatic than my husband is (go figure) but it's nice that you support your hubby's team even if you don't care about the game! :o) Have a great trip! Big hugs, Trac~ :o)
I think your mostly liquid diets sound very good right now!
I can't believe it was your first trip to the casino. You even won a little, maybe enough to cover those drinks. :)
I love coffee martinis, but haven't tried espresso martinis! One more for the Bucket List!
sounds like you are having a blast! enjoy the time left!
Always great to leave a casino with money, correctamundo? Enjoy your time in the Midwest. Have you been on the Great American Silo Tour yet?
that poor waitress! I know my favorite drink recipe by heart to avoid this!
thats looks like fun...you should have won a free drink fir actually hitting the bartender
Those drinks look really good!
Love that you were still able to capture all your cocktail consumption....even in the midst of all that fun!
Now you are someone that I could definitely go on vacation with. I do believe that we have the same taste for the *finer things in life.*
:)

Aren't casinos fun. although the cash vouchers are cool, I miss the good olde days where you'd listen to loud sounds of all the coins falling out of the machine into the the metal tray below.
I love casinos, makes me want to go back to RENO, since it's only an hour or so from where I live.
LOL
I'm jealous of you!
the title alone grabs you!
"the lady next to me at "Wheel of Fortune" smoked and the ashtray was right next to me...yuck."
That would have killed me!
Sounds like you are having a blast!!! And yeah, thank goodness for the BlackBerry!
Holy martinis Batman!:P
You know I loves my Blackberry too!
I have a surprise for you at my blog! :)
I seriously want to be you when I grow up. Your adventures, your outlook, your writing. Great post, again, some more.
You had me at 'Buttery Nipples.'
Sadly, this was at the end of the post.
Please put that way up top next time.
Thanks in advance.
I threw up at a bartender this weekend. Win.
No, wait... FAIL. Definite fail.
It sounds like you are having an awesome time! I love me a good martini! Been awhile though, and now I am intrigued by this whole hypnotic thing. Hmmmmmm.
Wow it sounds like you are having an awesome trip! so many cool different kinds of martini's, mmmmm, and pretty pictures!
I am exhausted just reading about your trip! Have fun.
