Apparently as part of the Honest Scrap award you are supposed to list 10 things about yourself. I must have missed that detail so I am going to do it now.... hang on, I am a most fascinating woman.......
1- I lived in England for a total of 7 years as a child. My dad was in the Air Force and did two tours. The first I was a baby and subsequently learned how to talk British first. When we returned to the US we lived in the UP of Michigan, and I mean upper. My teacher didn't like my accent and forced it out of me but when we went back I would switch back and forth... I was Britsh/US bilingual lol..
2- I was a chemisty major in college. Total science nerd.
3- I have worked in a Blood Bank for 23 years. People think it is gross to work with blood but all the blood I see is in tubes and bags. I never [rarely] see the patients receiving the blood and I never see the traumas in the ER. I obviously know what is going on if a patient is taking multiple units of blood. I did see one guy once who's leg had been cut off when he was hit by a train..that WAS gross.
4- My hobby is going to concerts. I love live gigs. I love to share music with people and I love it when I am introduced to new music. I have traveled as far as Mexico City to see a concert [Robbie Williams]
5- Gadgets are my crack. I love having the latest phone especially. My ipod is as precious to me as my wallet [has no money in it anyway] It was Christmas Day in May when I bought my MacBook. You get the point.
6- Traveling would be my second hobby....if I could afford it. I went to the UK last December by myself and met a lot of internet friends. It was a blast. I have done minimal traveling in the US. Would like to do more.
7- I have two daughters. One is 20 and a junior in college studying History. She went to a vocational high school and has a certificate in cabinet making. My youngest is 15 and a sophomore in the local high school. She loves writing and is learning to play the electric guitar.
8- I hate to drive. If my husband is with me he drives and if my oldest is with me she drives. In fact sometimes she drives me around if I am too tired to drive. Working nights takes its toll. If I had my way I would have a big Lincoln Towncar and a hunky driver...... as if...
9- Housework and cooking are totally not my bag. I can do them and do them well but why if someone else will. My husband does most of the cooking and even cleans. My share is done by my daughters, namely my oldest... I pay them. They want extra money so why not.
10- Perhaps this belongs with number 5 but I have my own NintendoDS. I enjoy video games. When we first got our PS 2 one Christmas I played until 3 in the morning. I couldn't figure out how to save the game so I didn't want to quit the game. My favorites being Ratchet and Clank and Jax and Daxter. On the DS I like to play MahJong and word games.
So there you go.. a few tidbits about me...

Thanks for the "insight" to your soul! Funny you should mention that you are a gadget nerd - check out my award post from yesterday! LOL
I hate housework as well. I tell my husband I am allergic to it so he does all the cleaning.
I do have to cook though...
You are a gadget geek! I work in tech support...so I'm supposed to be that way!
I share your gadget "habit". We are sooo bad at my house, we have two PS3s, I used the Blu-Ray player as an excuse to buy the second. A junkie will do anything to justify a good fix!
Congrats on the award!
I hate housework, too! and my husband hates that I hate housework. The good thing is he does the dirty work. I haven't cleaned a toilet in 16 years! Thanks to my great man!
Congrats on the award
My husband does the cooking too! It is fabulous!
Chem major? Seriously?
That is so mean of your teacher to try to rid you of your accent!
I have a DS and I love word games too. I need to get some software for that. I do it all on paper now.
Gadgets are my crack. In fact, I'm pretty sure there's an iCrack application to feed the addiction.
Found you through Mr. C's place. Good stuff!!!
Take care,
DK

I love British accents...they sound so sophisticated. :)
Nice!
We were also in England for 3 years thanks to the Air Force :)
How cool is it that you had that great accent : ) I always think accents are very exotic and exciting! LOVED learning more about you : )
Perhaps it was the sophistication of the accent that made that ph'kuit of a teacher so irate -- you intimidated her!
I'm with Will Burke - I can't believe any teacher would try to make a child speak with a different accent.
Oh, and I hate housework, too. In fact, I don't think hate is quite a strong enough word. Cooking is something else all together, though.
Knew you were fun and yes, why cook and clean if you don't have to . . I have to!!!
When I first started reading the comment you left re: today's joke, I got a shock until I realised you were only joking! I did consider whether posting the joke could be considered offensive but then I thought my readers would know me and know that it was there purely for the joke value and not anti anybody:)
Great post and yes if the kids want more money they should earn it. When my son used to object to doing something for me I used to say to him, 'why am I feeding you if you can't do this or that!' It became a joke in our house and he would often say it before I could in the end!
Congrats on your award! Visiting from NE Bloggers. :)
I dig the gadgets too...but you are not a bit nerdy!
Love the sharing of information about you and getting to know you better.
I have a DS too! A pink one. ;) "I love live gigs. I love to share music with people and I love it when I am introduced to new music."- Sometimes my favorite nights are when my friends and I get together to just listen to music!
I hate driving with a passion. It scares me. I might need therapy for this.
The latest phone...I truly understand. Gadgets are great, especially when you have them first.
Hugs and Mocha,
Stesha

10. Yeah I really got nothing for this one... sorry.
I did not realize you were bi-lingual ;-)
Liking option #9 only I don't think there would be any way to get my son interested in cleaning, even with the promise of moolah - drat!
I hate housework but I unfortunatelly I don't have any husband.
The more I know you the better I like you.
You really impressed me.
