Chat-eaux, the place to be.

My life on the internet has been varied and interesting. I used to play mostly on line games and shop on Amazon.com or ebay. Eventually I discovered forums. I joined a few of various topics and sizes. All had a theme to them, be it a fan site or a site dedicated to a particular subject. These sites were great for the most part and I met some of the best friends a person could want. I have also had some disappointing experiences on these sites as well. One of "problems" being none of them covered all my needs.

There was no place to just "hang out" and chat. That brings me to the banner you see at the top of the post. Chat-eaux.com is a site started by some of these great friends. Not finding the complete forum on the world wide web either, they decided to start their own. Chat-eaux.com is a site that has topic specific areas and general chat areas.

I have included a couple of screen shots to show you the lay out and some of the topics included. There are even more topics than what is shown. [have to leave some surprises]. As you can see the site is set up like a .....well a Chateau. There are floors and rooms, each with different themes. There are topics for everyone. If you don't see one you are interested in, start a thread or ask one of the administrators or moderators to start it for you.

There are even podcasts being included and the first, an introduction to the site and some of the members, can be heard here. Notice the accents, our members are from all over the world. Our podcast guru is brilliant and talented. If you are interested he is your go to guy and a wealth of knowledge.

The site is geared for anyone from young adult to .... older. It is well moderated so language is being kept mostly clean and off color topics and undesirable subjects are kept to a minimum.

So...... come and check us out. Get in on the ground floor [pun intended] Be a founding member and bring your friends.

And for a bit of fun, anyone who can tell me what my user name is will get a 500 point award. But you must register [which is an automatic 100 points] and tell me by private message or a comment on my profile. Make sure to identify yourself and that you are a blogger friend or reader...

If I weren't so addicted to reading blogs, I'd have time for something like that!

You could spread the word

I love that idea. My first online experience came from online forums and I have been wanting to find somewhere like you have described. I will definitely head over to check it out. PS that looks like the Chateau my son stayed in this summer in Quebec - but I guess it could be anywhere in this lovely world. See you there.

I never really understand the whole chat/forum thing. I think it's time I checked it out!

Never heard of this, I'll have to take a look.

After I finish punishing my husband for being so unlike a girl-friend, I will indulge myself in membership and its benefits. Great post. Yay

Interesting...do they have forums for disgruntled high school teachers who are growing increasingly frustrated with Principal Man?

magda said...

Surely they do, if not please start one. I was a teacher with lamest principal man ever.

The Couch forum would be the perfect place to start a rant thread....

I've tried these on-line forums before, but I didn't find it comfortable, but I will certainly check this one out!
I feel as though I have met you through another forum though, but I can't remember what it was! I've been blogging for almost 19 months now, and have used many different names too!

Sounds like good fun although I've yet to find a forum I really like but as they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained:)

I'm going to try it, but my user name has to be my name.. or I get too confused

user names
passwords
blogs
fb
tweats

I was dropped from your followers...but I corrected that as soon as I discovered you weren't on my blogroll anymore

Ooo very cool.

I'm not sure I'd have time for something else though. I already have e-mail, blogs, writing my novel and chatting on the clothing forum that I like.

Here’s my question, though. Were they GVoice “free” calls? As when I place an outgoing call through GVoice, the helpful voter lady often tells me that I’ve just dialed a free number. If that is the case, then someone (Google) is footing the bill even if it isn’t me.
