Look in the Mirror

Look  in the mirror,
Do you like what you see?
Are you everything,
You want/ed to be?

People have asked,
Can you be too old to dream?
I say no,
But might need a new theme.

What was important
When so young.
Has been given up
When lifes lessons stung.

The years have been kind,
And sometimes just pain.
I say worth it all,
To see what you gain.

Life teaches us daily
Even when we don't know.
And the dreams they change
As we continue to grow

Age sets no limits,
On what we want
Continue to the future
Don't let the past haunt.

Today is the day,
To make up your mind
So search your thoughts,
Let's see what you find.

Go back to the mirror,
If you fall on the ground.
And  check every so often.
For the dreams to be found.

Beautiful! Yes, we all need to do a reality check every now and then and reevaluate our goals.

Not letting the pain of things going 'wrong' or of making 'mistakes' stop you from achieving what you are put on this earth for is very important.

I think I should print your poem out and paste it on my mirror. The daily grind makes it easy to forget to keep dreaming.
