Alone Again.......Thankfully

The title of todays blog is a bit of poetic license on a line from the Gilbert O'Sullivan song Alone Again. The line is "Alone again, naturally" I am sure most of you have heard it. I would post the video link but I don't know how.

Anyway, the girls started school last week. The oldest is a junior in college (yikes) and the youngest is a sophomore in high school.. (almost yikes). The youngest is always gone by the time I get home from school and last year the oldest would leave as soon as I got home, we share my car. This year her first class isn't until 930am so she can hang out a bit in the morning. This is fine we often watch what ever she has DVR'd (is that a word? it should be) the night before. Even if I went straight to bed she doesn't bother me for the most part, but there is the inevitable burst into my room with "do you have appts this afternoon or can I take the car to work" or a variation on that. This morning however my husband dropped her off at college since I have an appt at noon. Thusly NO ONE home.

And what do I do, go to bed and get much needed rest, go out for coffee, or a nice hot shower, no I blog about it...... I really need my head examined.

Also...

I really want to thank everyone who had such kind things to say about my last few poems (and blogs too). I am glad so many can relate. It is nice to know I am not alone in how I feel about things. And one of you asked if  I was "inside his head"...you better hope not or you will be crazy soon.

Yesterday got even better when after the BBQ I checked my favorite bloggers and found I was given another blog award. This one from WhiteSockGirl  I really appreciate it and thank you for such kind words about my blog. As WhiteSockGirl said in her blog she isn't too sure what what the award is about but hey a compliment is a compliment and I take it graciously. The best part is the minimal rules..give to who you want and however many people you want too.

I would like to pass it on to.......

Lynn at S3Xinthepantry  she dares to be risque and well.... she seems to have a one track mind ;-)

and a new blog (to me anyway)

King of New York Hacks  who always has great insightful quotes, great pictures of a great city and great thoughts of his own.

Both deserve your time...

The blogosphere is very vast, and full of wonderful writers. My blog list keeps getting longer and longer, I have no time to read books anymore and my house work..well that was always a sad story ... lol.

Don't you just love the silence in the house when you can get it?

My youngest started his college classes today. He was away at school last year but he's living at home going to the community college this semester until he transfers to his new university, hopefully in January.

Congrats on your award!!! That's kind of a cool lookin' one!

Nice poem...and I know what you mean about your blog list getting longer. I stumble on new blogs and my reading material gets to be more time consuming...but I am loving every damn minute of it!

EXACTLY! my son is at school, my baby is asleep. i should be catching up on my sleep, or cleaning, or laundry, or scrapping, or returning calls but instead i am blogging. hence the blogging hoorbag misnomer.

to respond to your comments on my blog, yes you may call me SFTC, we're friends, right?

SITS is a great site to find new blogs and look for followers. when i find a really great blog i love i just look at what they're following, that gives me lots of blogs too.

and thus far i haven't even broke the $20 mark but not for lack of trying!

you are an authentic blogger, you post the real you, and not what you think is 'attractive' to everyone else. that's what makes you good, and you are good!

Just to clarify, DVR'd is most definitely a word. I use it daily! Way better then my mom informing me she's "taped" things. No tape involve, mama! It ain't a VCR! ;)

You don't need your head examined ;-) Blogging is for us too, right?

Ah, Gilbert O'Sullivan...a one-hit wonder? Anyway, I know the song, and I also know the feeling you're talking about. Time to think. We must be on the same wavelength...I have a similar post up today!

Blogging is such a great way to see the world anew and think creatively in your own space, away from lists and schedules.

Congrats on your zombie chicken award... I think!

Hi I like the name of your blog. I saw you on another blog I visited on recommendation from another blog. True, a compliment is a compliment, and even better via a Zombie Chicken Award. That is pretty cool, too.

When ever I get a free moment to lay down and catch up on some z's I'm usually catching up on blogs too!

Congrats on your award!

Congrats on the award. And yes, I too am guilty of spending precious alone time over here reading blogs!

I really like your poems. It's super easy to post a video. If It's Youtube just copy the HTML link and then add a widget and paste the html code into the widget. That's what I do, I'm sure there's an easier way but this works for me.

I love my peace and quiet and soak it up whenever I can. No TV or background noise - just pure silence!
