For those interested, I went to see an orthopedic doctor yesterday and at least got some options in treating my knee pain.I have fairly advanced osteoarthritis. It is in my hands as well. He suggested ibuprofen for pain, weight loss (the hardest part of it all) and injections in my knee. They could inject cortisone for pain management or hyaluronic acid (in some form) which helps maintain the cartilage that I have left. Of the two injections he suggests the second. You get a series of three injections, one a week for three weeks, and they usually last for 6 months. So I guess that is the option I am going to take. Work should love it since after each injection you can't do a thing (except go to the bathroom, drs words) for 24 hours. He said I can look forward to knee replacement in the future, but the injections should hopefully push that off some years. Always nice to have something to look forward to.
No concerts to look forward to at present. Not by choice, I get emails from all the major ticket outlets and venues, just no one catches my interest. Daughter has tickets to see Britney Spears but luckily found someone to go with so I don't have too. Phew.... I have seen most of the artists I want too, but I am sure there are some I just can't think of, so when I see the tickets on sale I will buy them. There are a few bands putting out new cds this year. Keane, who I have seen has a new cd so they should be touring again. U2 and Greenday have new cds coming out and I would like to see them....will let you know.
Started watching 24 this season for the first time. Watched the episode with Robert Carlyle and got hooked. Robert Carlyle is a favorite actor of mine. Unfortunatly he was killed off so... I am enjoying the current run, but I have a problem with jeanine garofalo. She had a bigger career in the 80's as a commedianne, actor. I never really cared for her then and now all she can do is frown and look scared. Maybe they will kill her off..
Ok I will stop boring you all now and get some sleep. Oh and one more thing, I entered some poems in a local newspaper contest. Should find out next week. Wish me luck as it is the first time I have tried to publish anything.
